my surname is Stutsbury, what does it mean? IE a cooper is a barrel maker?
I have found Stutsburys in parish records back to the 17th century but would love to know how the name came about.
Stutsbury derives from Old English around the early 13th Century. It is a conjugation of two words.
The word “stutte” meaning to stop, stay or remain.
The word “bury” (today’s borough) meaning a manor house or an enclosed fortified place.
Most likely the Family name was assigned because a distant relative was the proprietor or owner of such a safe place along an ancient road or trade route.

So much for this "feminist icon", eh? She clearly identifies with her race for her gender. She is so far to one (black) male Muslims to support the (white) woman, who clearly has a strong chance of the first female president. I think she is choosing the candidate she feels is best for the position. Women of color faced with this dilemma a long time. They are suppressed at the level of both gender and race.
